Cursillo is a world-wide Lay Movement of the Roman Catholic Church which began in the 1940s. The word cursillo means “short course in Christian living.” Cursillo begins with a three-day weekend retreat during which a series of talks are given by both clergy and laity. The retreat provides an opportunity to en- counter Christ through the Eucharist, prayer, discussion, reflections, and com- munity-building. Following the retreat, Cursillo provides an ongoing, small- group experience to support Christian discipleship in all of our environments – family, church, work, and community.
