The Human Concerns Commission promotes the word and manifests the love of Jesus Christ by helping those who are in need, following that principle that “whatever you do to the least of my people, you do unto me.” (Matthew 25:40)

Military Ministry

Members of the Military Ministry work to support the individuals and families of those currently enlisted as well as honor and support veterans in a variety of different ways.

Bereavement Ministry

It is our goal to be companions for the bereaved, from the time of their loved one’s death throughout the journey of grief and mourning.

Ministry of Care

Ministers of Care bring the Liturgy of the Word, prayer and Holy Eucharist to homebound parishioners who are unable to attend Mass or those who are hospitalized at Advocate Condell Hospital.

Divorce & Beyond Support Group

Divorce & Beyond Ministry Box

This group is for people who are divorced or who have already filed for divorce. It is not intended for people who are uncertain about the future of their marriage. This is a closed self-help group which means that there is no leader/teacher/counselor.

Domestic Violence Ministry

A Ministry dedicated to raising awareness, understanding, and the prevention of domestic violence by educating our community and supporting the victims and survivors of emotional, financial, physical and sexual abuse with resources.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry Box

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is made up of people who knit and/or crochet lap blankets and shawls to be given to those members of our parish who are sick, homebound or grieving.

Prayer Angels

Faithful parishioners provide prayer support when someone is critically ill or experiencing acute trauma. With the person’s or family’s permission, the Saint Mary Angels Prayer Angels are notified by email to pray for this person and their family.



Providing Advocacy, Dignity and Shelter (PADS) provides shelter, meals and security for homeless and needy individuals and families. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities, including meal preparation, set up, serving, morning clean up, laundry and evening and morning shifts.

Sharing Parish

The Sharing Parish Ministry is committed to developing and maintaining relationships between the members of the faith communities of St. Mary of the Annunciation and Most Blessed Trinity in Waukegan. This ministry seeks to fully support, with active and motivated volunteers from St. Mary, the Community Social Services Program (CSS), an outreach of Most Blessed Trinity.

Care For Our Common Home

The St. Mary of the Annunciation Care for Our Common Home Ministry promotes the teachings, values, and vision expressed in Laudato Si “On Care of Our Common Home” through prayer, education, advocacy and community engagement.

The conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving those in need with basics for human dignity by aiding the poor.

Mental Health Ministry

Mental Health Ministry Box

The Mental Health Ministry provides education and awareness to the parish community on issues related to mental health to breakdown the social stigma of having a mental illness, to provide information and local resources where help can be obtained, and to provide emotional and spiritual support.
