Through discernment, prayer and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the pastoral council of St. Mary of the Annunciation parish, provides support and advice to the pastor, while empowering the development of a vigorous lay leadership, and modeling a way of life characterized by Christ, the Servant King.
Purpose
- To engage the pastor and parishioners prayfully in common reflection about the parish’s mission and ministries.
- To support the pastor in pastoral planning, help define goals, and set broad strategies
- To evaluate in light of the Gospel and church teaching.
The Parish Pastoral Council, or PPC, acts in an advisory capacity to the pastor, which will include my successor. Members of the PPC provide support and advice to the pastor, assisting in prioritizing parish needs and providing leadership. The PPC recognizes the diversity of our parish and strives to represent that diversity. Let us pray to God that these chosen council members may be able to serve God, His Church, and the people of Saint Mary of the Annunciation with open hearts and minds, especially during these days of transition. The commissioning of the PPC was a priority of mine before I assume my new assignment on January 1st, 2024.
Current Members
The St. Mary Pastoral Council is presided over by our pastor, and comprised of lay parishioners. The council helps in overseeing our four commissions and its ministries as well as other areas of the parish.
