Rev. Dan Costello

My name is Fr. Dan Costello, and I am so delighted to be assigned to St. Mary of the Annunciation, effective July 1, 2022. I am looking forward to getting know you as we all grow together in faith and worship, building community and having some good meals and holy camaraderie along the way. You may need to tell me your name more than once and your patience is appreciated as I become more familiar with you and the community. I also look forward to sharing ministry with our Pastor, Father Jerry, along with our parish staff and councils.
A little about me…I grew up to start here in the Midwest in Cincinnati and St. Louis and then we moved out to the San Francisco Bay Area for high school and college before working in the corporate world in southern California, New Jersey and ultimately moving to Chicago in 1988. I studied for the priesthood at Mundelein Seminary and was ordained in 1998. I have served at a variety of parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago, both north and south. Most recently, I served as the temporary Administrator at St. Thomas the Apostle in Hyde Park and associate pastor at St Cle-tus in LaGrange. I very much enjoy being a parish priest; it has been a great gift to me.

My parents and oldest brother are enjoying Heaven these days and my brother Tim, and his wife Therese are in the Seattle area and have three married children and I am blessed to be a great-uncle of six, so far! My extended family are mostly in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and California.
