Annual Catholic Appeal
The Annual Catholic Appeal of the Archdiocese of Chicago is an annual fundraising campaign that supports the parishes, schools, ministries, programs and agencies that serve the educational, physical and spiritual needs of the people of the Archdiocese. Through Catholic Relief Services, the Appeal also serves people around the world, regardless of religious affiliation, whose lives are devastated by natural disasters, illnesses, wars and famine.
The Appeal also provides critical funding for the ministries of St. Mary. Annual Appeal donations received above our parish goal each year are returned to St. Mary to help fund the functioning of our parish and its ministries. Our goal for 2022 is $87,181.
After dealing with the pandemic, social unrest, economic uncertainly, and each one’s personal life challenges, we certainly all need to reclaim God’s promise of a transformed world. We also need to recommit ourselves to work – each in our own way – to foster that transformation. This year’s Appeal theme is: “Making all things new…God’s promise and our responsibility.” These words direct us to look into the future and, more specifically, to hear God’s promise to make all things new. They also direct us to look at our lives now and to claim our responsibility to work with the Lord to bring about that promised future.
The Annual Catholic Appeal is an occasion to hear God’s promise of making all things new once again. It is also an occasion to support that transformation through our investment of time, talent, and treasure. We thank you for your generosity to the Annual Catholic Appeal, which keeps us close to God’s promise of renewal and supports the works of charity and justice that make the promise a reality.
