The Annual Catholic Appeal of the Archdiocese of Chicago is an annual fundraising campaign that supports the parishes, schools, ministries, programs and agencies that serve the educational, physical and spiritual needs of the people of the Archdiocese. Through Catholic Relief Services, the Appeal also serves people around the world, regardless of religious affiliation, whose lives are devastated by natural disasters, illnesses, wars and famine.

The Appeal also provides critical funding for the ministries of St. Mary. Annual Appeal donations received above our parish goal each year are returned to St. Mary to help fund the functioning of our parish and its ministries. Our goal for 2023 is $94,409.

This year’s Appeal theme is: “Walking on the road with Jesus.” This theme recalls the gospel scene of the two disciples who find themselves walking toward the village of Emmaus with a stranger, who, in fact, is Jesus. (Luke 24:13–35) They come to know Jesus as one who listens to their hopes and fears, and they are consoled and encouraged as they walk together.

We take up the journey with the Lord and each other in trust and with generosity. The Annual Catholic Appeal offers us the opportunity to discover that the Lord is with us every step of the way as we walk together in supporting his mission in our local Church and reach out to all who are in need. The Annual Catholic Appeal is an occasion to walk with the Lord and to support our personal and collective Gospel journeys through the investment of our time, talent, and treasure. We thank you for your generosity to the Annual Catholic Appeal, which keeps us close to God’s promise of renewal and supports the works of charity and justice that make the promise a reality.
